Prologue Type is a Bay Area-based independent type foundry, established and run by me, Ellis Carson Jones.
At age 3, I could be found drawing fancy letters or on a bed covered in more books than blankets. Today, that’s... pretty much still true.
I know that stories are an inherent part of the human condition, and I strive to create tools that help people tell stories better. I hope you enjoy my fancy letters!

Our typefaces use the Prologue Latin character set, which I developed from a few existing character sets. It covers everything included in Adobe Latin 3, Google Fonts Latin Core, and Christoph Koeberlin’s Latin S, as well as coverage for Vietnamese. The full character set and supported languages can be viewed here.
Accessibility and diversity are extremely important to me. In line with these values, I assembled a custom character set to cover traditional industry standards as per Adobe and Google, but to also include more non-western languages than are covered by those standards.
Maybe. A fully custom typeface is incredibly expensive for the client, and extremely time-consuming for the designer. Reach out if you’re interested; I might be able to work something out with you! As an alternative route, I can also make custom modifications and/or stylistic sets to an existing typeface. Shoot me an email!
