Posthumous is a variable semi-connected blackletter script. It arose from a lettering sketch I was working on, just for fun—but when I started to connect the letters together and soften all of the joints, I knew it had to be a font.
Of course, it quickly spiraled out of control and now includes six weights along a variable axis as well as two stylistic sets and a whole slew of OpenType features, like automatic arrows and various figure sets.
Posthumous has swash caps turned on by default, but automatically removes the swash from all but the first letter of all-caps settings.
This handy feature, inspired by Matthijs Herzberg’s Mancine, allows for all-caps blackletter setting that’s actually readable!
If you decide you’d rather the letters not connect, worry not—there's a stylistic set for that.
This stylistic set provides more of a traditional blackletter feeling as opposed to the semi-connected script vibe of the default version.
Of course, if the swashes are too much, those can be turned off too.
This is great for when you have smaller text, or a lot of paragraph text. Or just for the vibes!
Posthumous also comes with automatic arrow replacement and four sets of numerals, not including super- and sub-script and fractions.
If anyone ever uses Posthumous to do math or spreadsheeting... please let me know. I would love to see it.
Posthumous uses Prologue Latin, a custom character set built with global inclusivity in mind.

I would like to extend my utmost thanks to Kelsey Elder and James Edmondson for their very crucial feedback; Colin M. Ford, Matthijs Herzberg, and Reiner Erich Scheichelbauer for their assistance, inspiration, and tutorials about OpenType features; and Kel Troughton for his advice on opening my foundry and releasing my first font. I owe you all a debt.
